Barão de Vilar Feuerheerd Douro Tinto 2014

This red wine is from the famed Van Zeller Family, winemakers in the Douro region of Portugal for 14 consecutive generations.

  • A terrific wine for the money, this is all freshness and minerality, light tannins and bright acids. There's an extra measure of savoury spice on the back end that's unusual in this price category, not to mention length. Genuine value. 87 pts.

Tasting Notes

A blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional, Feuerheerd’s Douro tinto (red wine) is a blend that expresses perfectly the Douro wines character.

A crisp, savory style, with fresh-crushed dark plum and dried raspberry flavors, supported by firm acidity. Dark chocolate and mineral notes combine on the lip-smacking and well-spiced finish.
