LCBO Vintages - Uncork the Mediterranean - February 7th

Southern France & Mediterranean wines are praised by the LCBO

Escape the deep freeze of winter and come and join us in the Mediterranean.
LCBO Vintages Event Uncork the Mediterranean will be sure to warm you up and lift your spirits.

Hosted at the elegant Globe and Mail Centre, you will have the chance to taste from over 70 sparkling, white and red wines from around the Mediterranean. These are some of the oldest wine producing regions in the world, where tradition is steeped in the soil and innovation is paving the future.

Terra Firma Brands will be participating with the iconic wines from Mas de Daumas Gassac. Considered to be the Grand Cru of the Languedoc these wines are a unique and finely balanced assemblage, changing each year, enabling the winery to reflect the nuances of each vintage.

A rare opportunity to discover the signature wines of this Languedoc producer, TFB will be pouring both the red and white Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert Cité d'Aniane. Exciting to note, these wines will be available for pre-purchase at the event.
Be sure to stop by for a sip and a story. We look forward to seeing you there.

Tasting Notes
IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert Cité d'Aniane, 2013 Midi, France Wine Spectator 90,  $94
The most concentrated in the lineup, the 2013 IGP Saint Guilhem le Desert is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, yet includes small amounts of Merlot, Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Pinot Noir and others. Aged 12-18 months in barrel, if offers lots of cherry pit, sappy garrigue, graphite, pepper and black raspberries to go with medium-bodied richness, good acidity and a vibrant, balanced profile that should allow it to evolve nicely over the coming 10-15 years.
IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert Cité d'Aniane 2016, Midi, France Robert Parker 88-89 $87
Tasted out of tank, the 2016 IGP Saint Guilhem le Desert Blanc is a ripe, sweetly fruited white made from a mix of Viognier, Petit Manseng, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. It gives up lots of sweet peach, orange marmalade and sugared citrus in a fruit-forward, nicely texture style that’s straight up gulpable.
